Palencia, July 4 .- El Tren turistico del Camino de Santiago formed by a 1887 steam locomotive, the oldest in Spain in use, and four cars with a capacity for 232 people, resumed their tour this summer between the towns of Palencia Sale and Fromista Banos.
Your Committee of Palencia, in collaboration with the Association of Friends of the Railroad, tera gold, Ventena, has launched a second year tourism initiative, which offers visitors the opportunity to travel on board the locomotive known as "The Boar" and know a guided tour some of the most important jewels of Romanesque Palencia.

The collaboration between the deputation of Palencia and the Association of Friends of the Railroad Ventena began in 2006 but the conditions imposed by ADIF and RENFE prevented the start of the trips until the summer of 2009.
That was when the Boar resume trips to the province of Palencia in a move that organizers said was very much an important demand of users.
In 2010 the County Council of Palencia 16,000 euros to furnish Ventena Railroad Association to provide continuity to "a very interesting activity" which may involve a thousand people, and serve to promote the province, explained the provincial institution.
